[00:00:00] Tell me if this sounds like you, you ovulate, you're tracking, you're temping. Maybe you started eating clean, trying acupuncture, doing all the things, and yet month after month, you still get a negative test. Today we are diving into why is it that you ovulate do everything perfectly and you still get a negative test?
If this sounds like something you are going through right now, I want you to know you are not broken and it's not your fault. Many of us, myself included, struggled with doing everything right and perfectly and still seeing a negative test. In today's video, we are gonna dive into. Everything else that could be going on with your body that is impacting your chances at [00:01:00] getting pregnant.
Let's dive in.
Hi, I'm Sophie Byfield and when I decided I was ready to be a mama, I thought it would be so easy. Get off birth control. Baby dance, like no one's watching. And poof, I was pregnant. But like many of you, that wasn't my story. After months of negative tests, endless treatments, and more supplements than you can count, I realized that getting pregnant isn't about fixing one piece of your fertility puzzle. It's about bringing your whole body. Back into balance so it feels safe enough to conceive. And this is where we focus on what really matters. Healing your whole body so that you can see those two pink lines. Welcome to the Heal to Conceive podcast.
So this week I got off a concierge session and a concierge session is when someone who signs up to join me inside the heel to conceive system gets a half an hour call with me where we dive deep into your specific case and I give you three action items, three things I want you to focus on or next steps to help you get started.
During this phone call, me and this new tribe member, were talking about how she is seeing clear signs of ovulation. She's dropping that egg. She's even gotten a chemical. We talked about the temping, the progesterone. Not only is she conforming progesterone with a fertility device, she's also getting her blood work done on seven days.
DPO, she feels like she's doing absolutely everything right, but month [00:02:00] after month. She's still getting a negative test. Raise your hand in the comments if this story sounds like you, because I know that that was my story and I wanna be real for a second. We are told that ovulation is the key to everything.
If you're not ovulating, you can't get pregnant. And while ovulation is the most important part of getting pregnant, there's still three steps to the process, and ovulation is only step number one. We're told inform shown on Google TikTok, everything that if you ovulate catch your surge time things perfectly, you will get pregnant.
But that is often not the case because we often don't focus on the other two parts of the equation. So part number one is are you ovulating? And some people [00:03:00] struggle to drop that egg, but there are a number of us, and I wanna say many of us struggle with parts two and three. Part number two is, is the egg fertilizing.
And part number three is can you implant and carry to term? Depending on where you are, where your challenge and issues are, you could be doing everything right and not actually working on and solving the main issue that is holding you back. Ovulation means the egg was released, check done. But that doesn't mean that the egg was fertilized.
It doesn't mean that it made it down the fallopian tube and was able to multiply, multiply, multiply to turn into a nice juicy embryo implant into the lining, and it doesn't mean that you are able to carry to turn. Ovulation is literally backing the car out of the driveway. When you were trying to get your to your destination, all you've done [00:04:00] is get in, pack the car, and get on the road.
Now this video may feel like, are you kidding me? I have to do more, sis, I'm gonna let you know. You do not have to do more. Sometimes it's just about tweaking something that we're already doing. Moving forward, all we're going to do is look at the whole picture and not step one. We wanna see everything so we know exactly what to tweak, what to add, what to remove in order to bring that baby home.
So the question becomes, what else needs to be in sync to make sure that we have the best environment, opportunity, and chance to see those two pink lines. Now, there are four main areas that we wanna look at and focus on. And again, I want you to think about this as not adding more, and not that you're doing something wrong.
We just saw a snippet of the picture and we nailed that part. [00:05:00] Now it's time to move on to the whole thing. Let's dive in. Number one is egg quality. Ovulation tells us that you got in the car and you backed down the driveway. Egg quality tells us if that vehicle is healthy and strong enough to get you to your destination.
Let's dive into a few things we know about egg quality. We are born with all of the eggs we are ever going to have, and so as we get older, the quality of the egg decline. It is science, it's biology. It declines. We can help support egg quality by taking the supplements. I dive deep into egg quality in this video right here, so if you wanna learn more about it, jump into this video next.
We also know that there's no blood test to really show us if your egg quality is poor, is good, is amazing. There's nothing but. Science has shown us that repeated chemicals, repeated [00:06:00] miscarriages, as well as perfect timing and negative tests can be a result of egg quality. Number two is sperm health. Sis sperm is 50% of the equation.
Your sperm analysis could come back normal, but there still could be some things going on with the health of the sperm. We wanna make sure we look at motility morphology and timing that the sperm can survive inside the uterus. If the sperm can't reach the egg, or it's not strong enough to fertilize the egg, then no amount of ovulation timing is going to bring your baby home.
Number three is your progesterone and the luteal face cyst. Ovulation is all about drop in that egg and progesterone is holding the doorway open long enough for that egg to fertilize and implant. If your progesterone isn't strong enough, if it drops too quickly, then [00:07:00] implantation will not happen and your period will start.
Check out this video on progesterone and your luteal phase to learn about what it does, when it does it, and how to support it. Progesterone is one of the key hormones to bringing your baby home. Number four is your uterine environment. Sis, there's not enough conversation about the health of the uterine environment and your lining.
Things like fibroids, polyps, endometriosis, all impact your ability to conceive. Things like low iron, guilty AST charge for years on end. Do not bring enough oxygen and blood flow to the lining in order for a fertilized egg to implant. We do not talk about the impact of your uterine environment enough.
In order for fertilization to happen, your uterine [00:08:00] environment, your uterus has to say, yes. It has to say it's go. I'm ready. This is a safe space. Things like poor blood flow, weak uterine lining, fibroids, polyps, even inflammation and clotting disorders, all impact your ability to conceive. They all impact the ability for that fertilized egg to burrow into the uterine wall.
Number five is stress, burnout, overwhelm, like all of the safety signals, if your body does not feel safe, it goes into fight, flight, freeze, and literally shuts down your ability to reproduce. I know we don't really talk about this enough, but stress has a very big impact on your ability to bring your baby home.
If your body doesn't feel safe, it won't sustain pregnancy. So things like chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, burnout not only have a mental [00:09:00] impact on your body, but your body says it needs protection and wreaks havoc on the hormones that allow you to reproduce. It literally slows them down because it doesn't feel like it's safe or the right time for you to carry.
Here's the part that really feels unfair, or, here's the part that felt really unfair to me. Nobody told me that these things had an impact on my ability to bring my baby home. Not one person. Everyone told me focus on ovulation, LH strips. Supplement, supplement, supplement, supplement. But nobody told me that my uterine environment or the fibroids I was carrying had an impact on my ability to bring my baby home.
And if someone had just shared that piece of knowledge with me, maybe my journey wouldn't have taken four and a half years. Okay. Yeah. Mm-hmm. [00:10:00] I was so focused on making sure I had the perfect timing and I was taking the right supplements that I missed. One of the key par parts. I missed one of the key parts, and that was making sure my uterine environment was okay, that my progesterone and luteal phase were good to go and ready for implantation and that my body felt safe.
This is exactly what I teach you how to uncover and understand really how to decode your missing piece or the thing that's holding you back and bring your baby home. Because a lot of the things that you're already doing right now, a lot of the supplements that you're already taking right now may be working in your favor.
They really may be. They really could be. Yeah. So here's what I want you to do. I don't want you to look at that list and be like, oh my God, I have to add so much sis. There's already [00:11:00] enough stress and overwhelm in this. Oh my gosh. Even shame inside this community. And when you're trying to conceive, I don't want you to look at that list of things I al I need to do or something.
I am doing wrong. Because exactly where you are today is exactly where you need to be. I. Has taught you so much about your body, I wanna help you take that information and teach you how to interpret it and read it so you can heal your missing piece and bring your baby home. So for right now, here's what I want you to do.
If you are already tracking ovulation, I want you to expand what you're tracking. If you're not tracking cervical mucus, BBT. And LH Surge, or your lh, start there. Then I want you to monitor what's happening in my luteal phase. How long are my temperatures staying up, and what is my blood progesterone [00:12:00] on seven days?
DP. That will help you rule out so many things that you need to be focusing on. Getting your blood work done, tests like progesterone, B12, vitamin D, iron, and a thyroid panel can all help tell you if your body thinks it's safe to get pregnant. If your iron is low, your body is going to protect you from getting pregnant if your vitamin D stores are low, if your B12 is low.
So really understanding your numbers and doing the right supplementation to help you get into the normal ranges or optimal ranges for fertility can help you bring that baby home. Supporting your nervous system sis. Fight Flight freeze does a major, oh goodness. It is not good for your fertility. It really isn't.
So things like journaling, yoga, meditating, slow mornings, grounding, all [00:13:00] of these things can help calm down your nervous system so that you can tell it it is safe to get pregnant, that we are safe and getting guided help sis. It is okay to get help on this journey, spending hours Googling, watching TikTok, watching YouTube, watching all of the channels about your fertility to piece together.
A plan doesn't really take your unique situation into account. You are individual. Your experience, your history, your period, your genetics all make up your road to baby. When you can look at the whole picture, it can bring calm confidence and hope back into the equation because it's not always about trying harder, it's about figuring out what's missing in your journey and healing that piece.
So you can see those two pink [00:14:00] lines. So here's what I want you to walk away with. You could be ovulating and doing absolutely everything perfectly, and some people can get pregnant with just that. And then there's some of us that need a little bit more help and do not need to focus on ovulation, but need to focus on implantation and carrying a term.
When we focus on implantation and CARTO term, we're looking at egg quality, we're looking at uterine health, we're looking at the right supplements. We're looking at stress management and burnout. You are looking at the full picture and not just a piece of the puzzle. Sis, I want you to know that you're not broken.
Not one bit, not at all. You have probably just been focusing on ovulation timing and supplement. And what I would like you to do is just zoom out a little bit and focus on the whole entire [00:15:00] picture, which is your uterine environment and carrying the term. Let's focus on the whole thing together. Remember, you've got this, and when you don't got this, I got you. Baby dust for all.
