I don't want that for you. So today I am going to share with you my top three tips to bring your baby home. Now if you're sick and tired of being on this hamster wheel, if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed with all of the fertility information out there, then sis, I got you.
Keep listening. 'cause if you implement these three, you'll bring your baby home faster. Let's go. Hi, I'm Sophie Byfield and when I decided I was ready to be a mama, I thought it would be so easy. Get off birth control, baby dance, like no one's watching, and poof, I was pregnant. But like many of you, that wasn't my story.
After months of negative tests, endless [00:01:00] treatments, and more supplements than you can count. I realized that getting pregnant isn't about fixing one piece of your fertility puzzle. It's about bringing your whole body. Back into balance so it feels safe enough to conceive. And this is where we focus on what really matters.
Healing your whole body so that you can see those two pink lines. Welcome to the Heel to Conceive podcast.
Since I was on my fertility journey for four and a half years. Four and a half years. And during that time, I tried absolutely everything. I did I-V-F-I-U-I, I did medicated cycles. Oh my gosh. Acupuncture, Chinese medicine specialists, natural paths, Reiki, anything in everything I could do to bring my baby.
Oh, let me know in the comments below if you can [00:02:00] relate. I was cleaning out my supplement drawer a couple days ago. I had 20 different supplements left over from when I was trying to conceive 20 different supplements left over. Oh my gosh. It is crazy to think everything I was putting myself through, but I just wanted to bring my baby home so, so bad that I was willing to try absolutely anything.
During this whole process is when I realized that there had to be a better way, and I became a fertility doula. For those of you who don't know, I have a background. I'm a personal trainer, nutritionist, exercise scientist, like I'm all into the body, but I didn't understand this world of fertility until I was in it.
I always believed you got pregnant easily, right? Get off birth control, baby dance, get pregnant. 1, 2, 3. That's what my fifth [00:03:00] grade health teacher said. It was gonna be easy, so you need to avoid it. But it wasn't easy for me. That wasn't my story. And probably for many of you, it's not your story either. So I became a fertility doula, and through working through my body and getting pregnant naturally and helping my clients do the same, I have come up with three areas that you need to focus on in order to bring your baby home.
Now, some of these areas are gonna be like, I already do this. Come on, sis, gimme something else. But sometimes it's going back to the basics and then tweaking the next step that can really be a game changer and really change things for you and your journey. So let's dive into these three steps, and then we will talk about the secret sauce you put on top of each of them.
Here we go. Step number one is mastering your ovulation. This, mastering your ovulation can be the biggest game changer. So [00:04:00] what does mastering your ovulation truly? So mastering out your ovulation is understanding what your body is doing as you move into the fertile window and out of it, your hormones do something different in each phase to help you bring your baby help.
So when we're mastering our ovulation, our first step is to look at lh BBT and cervical mucus girl. I said it. Lh BBT and cervical mucus. Let's start with lh. LH is the hormone that rises in the middle of your cycle that triggers ovulation. If your LH isn't rising, then you ain't dropping an egg. So tracking your LH is super important.
Number two, BBT and BBT is your basal body temperature that rises slightly after ovulation, usually within one to three days. So BBT is used to confirm that your egg [00:05:00] has dropped. Number three, cervical mucus. Now cervical mucus changes throughout your whole entire cycle. We actually have about four different types.
However, during your four window, you want it to be an egg like consistency, which really helps to sperm swim through the cervix to meet your egg. I am going to be absolutely honest with you. I hated tracking BBT. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. More on that later, but. Having two methods can really help you bring your baby home and really pinpoint that fertile window.
Fertility tracking apps aren't always accurate with the days that they listed as peak days. You see everything in your life affects your menstrual cycle. So if you're not tracking, you won't really know if you ovulated at the correct time. You won't know if you ovulated a couple days later [00:06:00] because of travel and sickness.
You may not know if you ovulated later because of stress when you are tracking, it allows you to pinpoint when you are dropping your egg to make sure you bring that baby. So we've mastered our ovation. We understand that we're tracking our BBTR LH and our cervical mucus to bring our baby home, and you can get pregnant with just this step, but some people need a little bit extra, a little bit more, and that's where tip number two comes in.
Cleaning up your lifestyle, girl. Every single thing you eat, you touch, you bring into your body. Either helps your reproductive system or dampers it down. So what do we do or what can we do to help improve it and make our body and the environment as healthy as possible to bring our baby home? Well, number one is cleaning up that diet.
There are approximately three to four fertility friendly diets. You have a [00:07:00] keto low carb, you have, uh, a Mediterranean, and you also have just a, what's called a fertility friendly diet, which has more B12. Finding the one that works best for you and your body is gonna be crucial to building the healthiest environment possible.
Let's say you're someone with PCOS, a Mediterranean diet may cause more inflammation within your body. Let's say you're someone who struggles with low carb, then eating a Mediterranean or a fertility friendly diet may be better for you. Not all diets are created for every body. Everyone's body is unique and different, so you need to find one that fits your lifestyle.
Girl, when I say the word diet, I don't mean diet to lose weight. I am talking about diet in terms of what you're eating and putting into your body and enhancing our lifestyle. Number two is sleep. Girl, [00:08:00] they don't tell you how important sleep is to fertility. Let me tell you. When you're sleeping, your body is still working and it's helping to regulate and balance your hormone.
If you're not getting enough sleep, that process can be thrown outta whack. So making sure you're getting seven to nine hours of good quality sleep is super important. Now, if you're anything like me and your sleep schedule is all over the place, the most important thing you can do is just add 30 minutes.
Let's do that for the next month. Add 30 more minutes. Going to bed earlier, 30 minutes. We'll slowly start to build on that until we're getting seven to nine hours. You got this. Number three, inside our lifestyle tips is stress management. Stress management stress can [00:09:00] throw off your whole entire cycle.
When I was on my journey, I was so stressed out. I had work stress, relationship stress, and then this whole entire journey, stress. Then we need to sprinkle on that. I did my journey in the middle of the pandemic and girl, it was rough. It truly was, and I do truly believe that that was one of the factors in what was holding me back.
One, I started implementing yoga, meditation, deep breathing, learning how to release stress for my body. Journaling was huge for me as well. I started to notice a difference. My cycle started to balance out. My ovulation started to happen at a regular time. My body just started to feel better. I know everyone talks about how stress can impact your journey.
But really finding and implementing techniques to help you get it [00:10:00] out. We're all gonna experience stress. That's just the way life is right now. We are all gonna experience stress, but not holding it inside your body truly is the key, and we'll make a huge difference on your journey. So, so far we've dove into.
Mastering your ovulation and cleaning up your lifestyle. The third and final tip to getting pregnant fast is to actually get a sperm analysis done. Sperm is half of the equation, girl sperm is half of the equation, and many couples overlook how important understanding the sperm health is to the equation.
Now, if you are using don sperm. Then focus on the first two tips. But if you have a sperm based partner, making sure you get a sperm analysis done to look at motility morphology and sperm, gout can change the game. I have a couple of [00:11:00] clients where they were two years into their journey, two years into their journey, when they finally did a sperm analysis only to find out that the sperm had challenges and issues.
That could have been corrected two years earlier. With supplementation, we put a lot of the pressure on the egg releasing partner, and a lot of the times cis, it is the egg releasing partner, but the sperm is 50% of the equation. The sperm is 50%. And if the sperm is a little bit off and the egg releasing partner's a little bit off, then this can keep us on the journey way longer.
Diet, exercise, lifestyle changes and supplementation can really help the sperm based partner if we know what we're looking for. So do not be like some of my clients and wait two [00:12:00] years really do get a sperm analysis done. If you've been trying for over six months and you haven't seen any positive.
Focusing on these three steps can really streamline your journey and bring your baby home faster. A number of my clients just started implementing, uh, mastering their ovulation, changing their diet up and getting this sperm analysis done and saw a positive within 12 weeks. A number of my clients. When you master your ovulation and you change up your diet, you really know what supplements you need to be on.
You don't need to be taking the 20 different supplements that I was taking. We could get you down to eight to five handfuls and handfuls of supplements. Side note, I used to walk around with this pill container. I had morning supplements and afternoon supplements. It was like the pill container was overflowing.
I had to shake it to get the supplements to fit. [00:13:00] Oh man. When we know better, we do better. There's so much of this journey that is out of our control. When you can focus on the things that you can control, it helps to alleviate the stress, the overwhelms, the feelings of, I'm not good enough. I don't deserve to be a mom.
When we focus on the things that we can control. We are empowered through this journey, not feeling defeated and overwhelmed. So what can you do? What can you start to implement right now? Number one, start tracking. Pick either your BBT and your lh, or your LH and your cervical mucus and start implementing that.
Tracking it inside a peer tracking app. Number two, start cleaning up your diet. Remove processed foods, start eating more whole foods. Start eating clean. Your body will thank you. And number three, book that appointment at the [00:14:00] doctor to get the sperm analysis step. A lot of the clients that come to me that I work with have missed these steps, have not focused on the ovulation, have not implemented lifestyle changes, have not done a sperm analysis, and when they start implementing it, they already feel and see the change in their body.
They're seeing their positives By delaying implementing these three amazing tips, you could be on this journey way longer than you need to be inside the tribe. I help people to feel empowered on their journey because I didn't feel empowered on my journey. I never want you to feel how I felt. I never want you to feel lost, overwhelmed, and stressed down.
I was so defeated. I remember sitting on the toilet crying and begging to become a mom. I don't want that for you, and this is exactly why I teach you how to [00:15:00] master your ovulation, how to clean up your diet, and really what to look for in the sperm analysis. We learn all of this inside the tribe, and the sisters are feeling so much better about themselves and this journey because they have the community, the support to be able to bring their baby homes.
I want that for all of you. So if you want more fertility related information, tips and trips, hit that like and subscribe button and really dig into my channel. I really want you to know that you were not alone in this journey. It's a secret society that nobody wants to be a part of. It kind of sucks to be honest, but you've got this.
You're gonna bring your baby home and when you don't got this, I got you, baby. Death for all.
